Youth Section

We welcome young members of all abilities. For water based activities, all you need is lots of enthusiasm, a waterproof top and leggings, tracksuit or shorts, sweater, towel and trainers (which you don't mind getting wet!). We can provide you with a buoyancy aid and a fun day or evening on the water.
Young sailors, windsurfers and anglers are welcome to take part in Club activities. Where time permits and volunteers are available, special youth events will also be organised.
Our youth team was very successful in the 2010 West Sussex schools competition, including an individual joint first place.
Some members competed with success in the 2010 Chichester Yacht Club Dinghy Week: Eric Sharrad was 1st in the Laser Class and 2nd overall in the fast fleet, while Hannah Gibbs was 3rd in the under 16 long distance race. For further details and an action photo of Hannah, click here.
This is what the Youth section says about their activities:
"The club caters for a wide range of abilities, from novice to more experienced. If you don’t own a boat of your own, the club has plenty of Toppers and single-handed Lasers, which can be used by the Youth Section and all members."
"We cover loads with the Youth Section, with a good balance between skills and having lots of fun!!! In the summer we spend as much time having fun on the water as possible.”
"We don’t just sail at Pagham; we have been invited to sail at other sailing clubs along the south coast e.g. Arun, Bognor and Felpham. We also go on visits to local, and occasionally not so local, attractions.”
